in "Res Musica", September 2023
LES GRANDS FORMATS
Rappelons que c’est Denis Dufour (fondateur de Futura) qui fut le premier récipiendaire du Prix Russolo en 1979! Il est à l’affiche de Futura 2023 avec une nouvelle œuvre de grand format (plus d’une heure de musique), FA 67-54, dédiée au compositeur Frédéric Acquaviva, aussi artiste sonore et ami que Dufour est allé interviewer. Cette nouvelle saga dufourienne prend comme trame structurelle le parcours du compositeur, de sa naissance en 1967 à l’année 2021 où il fête ses 54 ans. Aimant jouer avec les nombres, Dufour choisit, dans le déroulé chronologique de la vie d’Acquaviva, des dates en rapport avec la série de Fibonacci (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, etc.). Les propos volontairement succincts voire énigmatiques du compositeur invité à témoigner de sa trajectoire d’artiste sont systématiquement traduits en anglais puis brodés, prolongés, commentés par les actions sonores/improvisations de la chanteuse Loré Lixenberg et de l’artiste multimédia Hém-ish. Ce dernier, qui prête sa voix à la traduction anglaise, souffle également dans un superbe cor tibétain dont Jonathan Prager, aux manettes, magnifie le rendu sonore. L’invention et la liberté de ton sont la règle, entre fantaisie débridée, humour décapant et virtuosité du montage. En phase avec l’ordonnance numérique, la pièce dure… 67’54 »!
Évoquée dans la pièce de Denis Dufour, Séminal (2020-21) de Frédéric Acquaviva est donnée dans la foulée, interprétée par Olivier Lamarche. D’envergure elle aussi (49′), la pièce convoque une locutrice, l’artiste ORLAN, une chanteuse, un orchestre et l’électronique. C’est la version acousmatique (entièrement fixée sur support) qui est donnée ce soir en création. Le texte consiste en une liste d’événements cosmologiques à venir, dit dans un mauvais anglais par la locutrice environnée par une constellation de sons instrumentaux : ainsi cette pièce conceptuelle se déroule-t-elle selon un même protocole, évoluant dans sa deuxième partie vers une densification du tissu orchestral lorsque les instruments se mettent à jouer simultanément.
